Texas MBA Takes Sweet 16 in Poets & Quants Ranking
McCombs’ Full-Time MBA takes historic high in the nation’s most comprehensive MBA ranking
Hitting an all-time historic high, the Texas McCombs Full-Time MBA Program rose three ranks to No. 16 in Poets & Quants’ 2024-2025 ranking of 100 U.S. MBA programs.
The top three spots in the annual ranking, respectively, went to Northwestern University, Stanford University, and the University of Chicago.
Among public schools, McCombs leapfrogged over the University of California at Berkeley (17), the University of Washington (19), and the University of Michigan (29) to land at another historic high, No. 3, behind the University of Virginia (5) and the University of California at Los Angeles (14).
The Texas MBA has landed in the top 20 every year since the ranking debuted in 2010.
Poets & Quants forgoes surveys and data collection, relying instead on a weighted average of what its editors perceive as the most influential graduate business rankings. The rankings that are chosen and how they are weighted vary annually. This year’s lineup mirrors last year’s: U.S. News & World Report (35%), Financial Times (30%), Bloomberg Businessweek (15%), LinkedIn (10%), and The Princeton Review (10%). The comprehensive approach encompasses a larger array of data and smooths out the anomalies from any one ranking on its own.
