Full-time degree continues its 9-year high and leads nation in number of top-20 business specialties in U.S. News & World Report ranking

The Texas McCombs Full-Time MBA program continued to ride a nine-year high, landing at No. 16 out of 133 ranked programs — in the 2025 release of U.S. News & World Report’s survey of the nation’s best graduate schools of business, the most competitive such ranking in the industry. Among public schools, the program ranked No. 4.

The Hildebrand MBA has counted itself among the top 20 programs in 33 of the past 34 years. Among public schools, the program has held top-five status for the past 21 years.

McCombs takes first place among Texas schools, followed by Rice (No. 29), The University of Texas at Dallas (No. 31), Southern Methodist University (No. 34), and Texas A&M and Texas Christian University (tied at No. 43)

Working Professional MBA No. 6
In the part-time MBA rankings, McCombs overtook the University of Michigan to hit No. 6. The working professional MBA programs at McCombs, which include the Texas Evening MBA, the Texas MBA at Houston, and the Texas MBA at Dallas/Fort Worth, have held top 10 status for the past 16 years running and are the only Texas programs to do so.

Executive MBA No. 12
The Texas Executive MBA rose three spots to No. 12, overtaking Cornell University, Emory University, and the University of North Carolina in the executive rankings. The program has enjoyed top 20 status for 21 of the past 23 years, with top 15 honors in five of the last six.

The U.S. News ranking also considers the strength of MBA programs across 12 subject areas.  McCombs ties Stanford in leading the nation in the greatest number of business specialties hitting the top 20, nine of which also made the top 10.
