The Texas McCombs Full-Time MBA Program reached No. 18 in the nation and No. 6 among public schools in Forbes magazine’s 11th biennial ranking of MBA programs across the country.

The McCombs School of Business has ranked in the top 20 for eight of the past nine iterations of this ranking, which measures the value of the MBA degree on its return on investment: how alumni salary compares to the educational investment made. Forbes compares earnings in the first five years out of business school to the opportunity cost of forgone compensation, tuition, and required fees. The methodology adjusts for cost of living expenses and discounts earnings gains using a rate tied to money market yields.

The University of Chicago took the No. 1 spot. Stanford and Northwestern took second and third place, respectively. Texas schools among the 61 programs ranked include Rice (26), Texas A&M (33), SMU (45), and the University of Texas at Dallas (46).

Forbes includes only two-year full-time MBA programs in its U.S. ranking. The current ranking is based on surveys sent to 17,500 MBA graduates of the class of 2014 at more than 100 schools.
