New Highs for MBA Programs and Specialties in U.S. News Ranking
The Texas McCombs Full-Time and Working Professional MBAs held steady at high ranks while the executive program hit a historic high
Holding steady at rank No. 18, the Texas McCombs Full-Time MBA Program maintained its venerable top 20 position in the 2022 edition of U.S. News & World Report’s survey of the nation’s best graduate schools of business.
The Texas McCombs MBA has counted itself among the top 20 programs in 29 of the past 30 years. Among public schools, McCombs rose to fourth place, tying UCLA. Public school in the top spots were the University of California, Berkeley (7 overall), and the University of Virginia and University of Michigan (tied at 13 overall).
Specialty Rankings
The U.S. News ranking also considers strengths in subject areas. This year a record five McCombs business specialties made the top 10:
• Accounting: No. 1 (15th year in a row at No. 1 and 29th year in a row among the top five)
• Information Systems: No. 4 (29th year straight in the top five)
• Business Analytics: No. 5 (second year in top 5; category debuted last year)
• Entrepreneurship: No. 9 (25th consecutive year in the top 10)
• Real Estate: No. 10 (category debuted last year)
Working Professional MBA Stays Strong at No. 7
In the best part-time MBA rankings, McCombs held steady at rank No. 7, this year tying Carnegie Mellon University. The working professional MBA programs at McCombs, which include the Texas Evening MBA, the Texas MBA at Houston, and the Texas MBA at Dallas/Fort Worth, have held top 10 status for the past 12 years.
Executive MBA Take Historic High at No. 11
Building on its strong showing last year, the Texas Executive MBA rose to a new all-time high at rank No. 11 in the executive rankings. The program has held top 20 status for 17 of the past 19 years.
