The McCombs School of Business will bestow top honors on three new inductees and recognize alumni with exemplary service at its annual Hall of Fame celebration on Nov. 1, 2018.

The Hall of Fame award, the highest honor awarded by the school, recognizes exceptional work in civic, educational, and philanthropic activities, as well as outstanding professional contributions to the business and educational community.

This year’s honorees include:

Richard Folger, BBA ’81, BS ’84, is managing general partner of Colbridge Partners Ltd. In 2015, he retired as CEO and president of Warren Equipment Company, one of Forbes 400 America’s Largest Private Companies, which provides equipment to the energy and construction industries. He holds a BBA in finance and petroleum land management and a BS in petroleum engineering from UT Austin, and an MS in finance from the University of Notre Dame. He is a strong supporter of the university, having established four endowments and served on several distinguished boards and committees. His community work includes service to the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, Midland Memorial Hospital, Helen Greathouse Charitable Trust, and The Rea Charitable Trust.

Rex W. Tillerson, BS ’75, attained global prominence as the 69th Secretary of State, but was already known for his 41-year career at ExxonMobil Corporation, where he retired as chairman and CEO in 2016. He joined ExxonMobil after his graduation from UT Austin with a BS in Civil Engineering, becoming CEO in 2006. His lifelong commitment to the Boy Scouts of America ranged from his attainment of Eagle Scout to his serving as national president from 2010 to 2012. His civic participation includes the American Petroleum Institute, National Petroleum Council, Center for Strategic and International Studies, Business Roundtable, Business Council, United Negro College Fund, and Ford’s Theatre Society. He was elected to the National Academy of Engineering and named a Distinguished Alumnus of UT in 2007. He has also received numerous recognitions and awards from domestic and international organizations and governments.

Theodore T. Wang, MBA ’96, is the founding managing partner of Puissance Capital Management, a global asset management firm. Before Puissance, he was partner at Goldman Sachs where he held several leadership positions during his 19-year tenure and was a key figure in the firm’s expansion into China. Prior to pursuing his McCombs MBA, he co-founded Xeotron Corp., a company specializing in DNA biochips in Texas. He also holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Minnesota and a BS from Fudan University, China. Wang serves on four public corporate boards and is a trustee of the Museum of Chinese in America, the Dunhuang Foundation, the Spence School, and a member of Committee of 100.

McCombs will also recognize at the celebration its 2018 Alumni Rising Stars, young alumni who have demonstrated professional success and have shown exemplary service to the Texas McCombs Alumni Network.

This year’s honorees are Lisa Seacat DeLuca, MSTC ’10, distinguished engineer, IBM; David R. Druley, BBA ’88, MBA ’03, chairman and CEO, Cambridge Associates; and Jeffrey M. Duchin, BBA ’98, senior vice president, UMB Bank.
