For the Love of Supercars
Winning! program to bring sleek, high-performance autos to campus Thursday and Friday
Race car enthusiasts can get a close look at exotic supercars with such names as Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Porsche on Thursday and Friday at The University of Texas at Austin. The “Cars on Campus” exhibit is sponsored by Texas Executive Education and its leadership accelerator program, “Winning! What Auto Racing Teaches Us About Success in Business.”
The track at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) is part of the McCombs School of Business accelerator program, set for June 3–5. It is for executives and rising business leaders interested in new ways to drive success at their companies.
COTA will be displaying the performance BMWs that will be used in the June program. The Longhorn Racing Academy is set to bring a Porsche 911 and a Ferrari F8 or Lamborghini Huracán. Esses Racing may display a Revolution sports racer and a Porsche 992 Cup car or a Mercedes-AMG GT3 on Friday. Events House is scheduled to bring a Formula One car on Friday, and other racing enthusiasts may also bring vehicles on the second day of the show.
The cars will be on display in the plaza between Rowling Hall and the AT&T Hotel and Conference Center from noon to 5 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday.
April 19 is also the last day to apply for the three-day Winning! program and receive $1,200 off the $14,500 tuition. The number of participants will be limited to 20 people.
It is taught by Texas McCombs and Cockrell School of Engineering faculty members, C-suite executives, and race car professionals on campus and at the COTA racetrack. Participants will focus on ways to make decision-making a core competency, techniques for creating and implementing winning strategies, methods for building and sustaining high-performing teams, and approaches that drive successful execution.
On May 1, Texas Executive Education will host a webinar called “Winning Strategies for High-Stakes Teamwork and Performance.” A veteran Formula One team manager will join University faculty members to explore successful strategies, perspectives on failure and innovation, and the lessons that auto racing can teach us about success in business.
The webinar is set for 10–11 a.m. CDT via Zoom.
