Texas McCombs faculty members are leading three of the four major U.S. finance academic associations, including Western Finance Association, Financial Management Association, and American Finance Association. In these leadership roles, our faculty shape and advance the study and application of finance on a nation-wide scale.

John Griffin, James A. Elkins Centennial Chair in Finance

John Griffin serves as president of Western Finance Association (WFA) until June 2022. WFA is a professional society for academicians and practitioners with a scholarly interest in the development and application of research in finance.

Robert Parrino, Lamar Savings Centennial Professor of Finance

Robert Parrino serves as president of Financial Management Association (FMA) until October 2022. FMA is a global leader in developing and disseminating knowledge about financial decision making.

Laura Starks, George Kozmetsky Centennial University Distinguished Chair

Laura Starks serves as president of American Finance Association (AFA) until January 2023. AFA is the premier academic organization devoted to the study and promotion of knowledge about financial economics.
