All McCombs MBA Programs Rise in U.S. News Rankings
New numbers: No. 18 for the full-time MBA, No. 7 for working professionals, and No. 12 for the executive program
Rising one rank to No. 18, the Texas McCombs Full-Time MBA Program maintained its venerable top 20 position in the 2021 edition of U.S. News & World Report’s survey of the nation’s best graduate schools of business.
The Texas McCombs MBA has counted itself among the top 20 programs in 28 of the past 29 years. Among public schools, McCombs held steady in fifth place, behind the University of California, Berkeley (7), University of Virginia (11), University of Michigan (12), and UCLA (16).
Specialty Rankings
The U.S. News ranking also considers strengths in subject areas. Four McCombs business specialties landed in the top 10:
• Accounting: No. 1 (14th year in a row and 28th year in a row among the top five)
• Information Systems: No. 4 (28th year straight in the top five)
• Business Analytics: No. 4 (new subject area debuting this year)
• Entrepreneurship: No. 8 (24th consecutive year in the top 10)
Working Professional MBA Takes No. 7
In the best part-time MBA rankings, McCombs also rose one rank to No. 7. The working professional MBA programs, which include the Texas McCombs Evening MBA, MBA at Houston, and MBA at Dallas/Fort Worth, have held top 10 status for the past 11 years.
Executive MBA Rises to No. 12
In the executive rankings, the Texas Executive MBA soared to No. 12, tying its historic high set in 2005. The program has held top 20 status for 16 of the past 18 years.
