2024 Summer Celebrations

McCombs School of Business alumni chapters stretching from London to Los Angeles welcomed student interns and new graduates to their regions during the 2024 Summer Celebrations, an annual tradition. In the Bay Area, McCombs partnered with the Cockrell School of Engineering to bring a panel that discussed the impact of AI on future careers. In Los Angeles, McCombs joined forces with the Moody College of Communication to offer a networking event for alumni. In New York City, alumni and students enjoyed a brunch, and the Dallas chapter welcomed Dean Lillian Mills. The dean also made a stop in London. The events were free for 2024 graduates and UT students. Among the celebration regions were San Francisco/Bay Area, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, New York, Denver, northwest Arkansas, Austin, and Orange County, California.

Summer Chill Pop-Up, Aug. 15

The McCombs School of Business operations team was the host of a “Summer Chill” pop-up event to show its appreciation of the campus operations teams that work hard to keep the campus running. About 150 workers took a break from the mid-August heat to enjoy cool treats from the Kona Ice truck and to grab swag from the many McCombs programs and centers. It takes a lot of work to keep buildings clean, cool, and supplied; the grounds landscaped; packages and mail delivered; parking lots maintained; and the cafes and hotel operating.

2024 McCombs Homecoming, Sept. 27-28

Texas McCombs celebrated Homecoming Weekend at the end of September with a half-day business conference featuring top faculty members, a barbecue tailgate before the football game against Mississippi State, and a reception for the reunions of the classes of 1979, 1984, 1989, 1994, 1999, 2004, 2009, 2014, and 2019. The Longhorns beat the Bulldogs 35-13.
