Keith Asmussen, BBA ’21, MPA ‘22, recorded his 64th career victory as a jockey in December, passing the total registered by his father, Hall of Famer Steve Asmussen. The younger Asmussen started his horse-riding career after earning his MPA. 

Stewart Seeligson, BBA ’86, MBA ’94, was named a managing partner of The Agency Telluride, a Colorado franchise of the global real estate brokerage The Agency. He is an award-winning local real estate expert with more than two decades of industry experience.   

Diana Diaz, BBA ’85, has been named the permanent chief financial officer of Direct Digital Holdings, an advertising and marketing technology platform. She previously worked as vice president and CFO at Sharps Compliance Corp.  

Ross R. Moody, BBA ’84, received the Distinguished Alumnus Award for 2023 from Texas Exes. He is chairman and CEO of National Western Life Group, where he was president and chief operating officer from 1992 to 2016. He also is one of three trustees of the Moody Foundation. 

Marcie Zlotnik, BBA ’83, has joined the board of NRG Energy Inc. She is the co-founder, chief operating officer, and chair of Texas retail electricity provider StarTex Power. 

Susan Sabanos, MBA ’83, has joined Opinions Ltd., a U.S. data collection and fieldwork services firm, as vice president of research and strategy. She was previously vice president of client services at Curion and held a similar position at MMR Research Associates.  

Sherron Watkins, BBA ’81, MPA ‘82, spoke about “The Courage of Your Convictions” in a business ethics address at Franklin & Marshall College in Pennsylvania. Watkins was a prominent whistleblower in the Enron scandal.  

James Schellhase, BBA ’80, MPA ‘81,  has been appointed executive chairman of McCarthyFinch, a legal workflow software company. Before joining McCarthyFinch, he was CEO of DiscoverReady and a global executive with IBM.  

Gary Kelly, BBA ’77, has been appointed to the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas board. He is executive chairman of the Southwest Airlines Co. board and joined the company in 1986.
