Student-Athlete Named To Academic All-America Team

Eliot Spizzirri, BBA ’24, was selected by the College Sports Communicators for the Academic All-America Men’s Tennis Team for his performance on the court and in the classroom. Spizzirri was also listed as Team Member of the Year during June. 

Seven people were chosen for each first and second team, and five were picked for the third team. Texas and Virginia were the only Division I schools with more than one representative on the first team. 

Spizzirri was a first-team honoree in 2023 too. This season, he repeated as Big 12 Player of the Year, and he once again finished with a No. 1 ranking in singles from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). He became the fourth player nationally to finish as the top-ranked singles player twice since the ITA rankings began in 1981. Spizzirri was also named ITA National Player of the Year.
