New positions become effective ahead of fall semester

Interim President Jim Davis of The University of Texas at Austin has recommended 11 members of the faculty at the McCombs School of Business for promotion in 2025. The promotions would become effective before the fall semester on Aug. 16.

Dean Lillian Mills praised the decision and the school’s teachers and researchers. “McCombs takes pride in its exceptional faculty members who inspire and equip students to address society’s most significant challenges and create a positive impact. Their groundbreaking research and excellent teaching abilities help us to achieve our goal of becoming the world’s highest-impact public research university.

“I am delighted to announce that the following faculty members have been recommended by interim President Jim Davis for promotion,” she said.

Patrick Badolato — Promotion to professor of instruction

Sara Toynbee — Promotion to associate professor

Kristina Zvinakis — Promotion to professor of instruction

Business, Government & Society | Marketing

Alex Gabbi — Promotion to associate professor of instruction in both departments

Finance

Michael Sockin — Promotion to associate professor

Information, Risk, and Operations Management

Ashish Agarwal — Promotion to professor

Rui Gao — Promotion to associate professor

Mingyuan Zhou — Promotion to professor

Management

Steven Gray — Promotion to associate professor

Marketing

Doug Chung — Promotion to professor

Kathy Li — Promotion to associate professor
